OCRIS Mobile Enterprise Deployment & Security
OCRIS OCRIS Mobile is a Windows-based field data capture application used for geological and exploration logging in remote and operational environments.
It is designed for deployment on field laptops, rugged tablets, and other Windows devices used by geologists and field technicians.
OCRIS Mobile is distributed as a standard MSI installer and is compatible with enterprise software deployment platforms including Microsoft Intune.
Installer Access
Installation packages are available through the OCRIS Suite customer portal (opens in a new tab) after:
- customer registration
- product key entry
- licensing entitlement confirmation
Installer packages are available after product activation and may also be supplied directly to enterprise administrators on request for managed deployment.
Installer downloads are accessible through the OCRIS Suite website once the user account has been activated.
Installer Type
Installers are provided as MSI packages.

C:\Program Files\OCRIS Mobile
Silent Installation
Standard silent deployment:
msiexec /i <installer_path> /qn This command is suitable for deployment through Intune or other MSI-compatible deployment systems.
Uninstallation
Standard MSI uninstall methods are supported.
Typical uninstall syntax:
msiexec /x <installer_path> /qn Supported Operating Systems
Supported Microsoft Windows environments:
- Windows 11 (64-bit)
- Windows 10 (64-bit)
Minimum Hardware Requirements
- RAM: Minimum 8GB
- Disk space: Minimum 200MB free
- Input: Keyboard and mouse or touch-enabled device
Optional Hardware
- GPS unit compatible with Windows Location Platform (this is used when location services are required in field workflows)
User privileges
- Installation
- Administrator privileges are required during installation.
- Normal operation
- OCRIS Mobile runs under standard user privileges after installation. No elevated privileges are required during normal operation.
Internet Connectivity
Internet connectivity is strongly recommended but not mandatory.
Internet access is used for:
- license validation
- update retrieval
- analytics transmission
OCRIS Mobile remains operational without continuous internet access.
Firewall Configuration
Outbound access should be permitted on:
- port 80
- port 443
The following domains should be accessible:
- updates.nimbletechco.com
- analytics.nimbletechco.com
- licensing.nimbletechco.com
Cloudflare Network Ranges
Where firewall policies require IP-based allow-listing rather than hostname rules, current Cloudflare IP ranges should be permitted.

Update Behaviour
OCRIS Mobile supports two update methods.
Manual Update
Users may manually:
- download latest MSI
- run installer
- update existing installation
In-Application Update
The application can automatically:
- download latest MSI
- execute installer
- apply the update over the existing version
Network Behaviour
OCRIS Mobile does not require persistent cloud connectivity for core field operation.
Outbound communication is limited to:
- licensing
- update checks
- analytics
No inbound firewall exceptions are required.

OCRIS Mobile supports deployment through:

- Group Policy deployment
- MSI software deployment tools
- manual installation
Security Characteristics
- MSI-based deployment
- no background service required for core operation
- no elevated privileges after installation
