Admin / Advanced information
This section contains advanced information intended for system administrators and other technical users.
File system
OCRIS Mobile stores its files in the shared public documents folder, so that multiple users on the same machine can work on the same logger files.
This folder is usually:
C:\Users\Public\Documents\OCRIS Mobile\
Inside this folder, the following subfolders exist:
- ActiveData - Used to store the logger files that are currently available.
- ArchiveData - Used to store any logger files that have been archived, as well as copies of any photos that have been archived or exported.
- BackupData - Used to store any logger files that have been backed up.
- Logs - Used to store application log files. If the software encounters any errors, these log files may be useful in diagnosing those errors.
Every user will also have a user-specific settings file, stored in:
C:\Users\<USER_NAME>\AppData\Roaming\Ocris.Mobile\
Registry
OCRIS Mobile does not write any information to the registry, beyond the standard entries created by Windows Installer during the install process.
Firewall
OCRIS Mobile can run entirely offline, and was designed as an entirely offline product. However, OCRIS Mobile will run best if it has access to a number of external web services. It is recommended that you set up firewall rules to allow traffic to the following:
| Hostname | Port | Comments |
|---|---|---|
licensing.nimbletechco.com | 443 | Online license activation. |
updates.nimbletechco.com | 443 | Software updates. |
analytics.nimbletechco.com | 443 | App analytics (anonymous and secure). |
